PERIOD ARCHITECTURE

Grand French Provincial Home

— French Inspired Forever Home

This husband and wife surgeon team had previously had Lee Johnson design their medical rooms.

So, he was their first choice for the dream home they were planning for an inland Whangarei property; a dream home fit for a busy and growing family and heavily steeped in French Provincial period architecture.

Lee began work on the initial concepts in close conjunction with the owners in 2001. Sketching and refining initial conceptual designs over 12 months till they reached working drawings and building plans. This grand but functional home features a slate roof installed by traditional roofing craftsmen from Europe.

The interior is a multi-level delight complete with exposed beams and high ceilings. High attention to detail was paid to interior features such as architraves and skirtings in keeping with the period style.
